Our partnership brings together two distinct worlds:
Dereck’s background in design and machining, and Tara’s roots in art and early childhood education. This unexpected mix allows us to balance technical precision with organic creativity.
Our Blueprint
Built for Generations, Not Landfills
Out of a continuing concern over a world built on planned obsolescence and disposable goods, we made a foundational choice long ago: to only work with sustainable materials and to design items for the home that you would rather pass along than dispose of. We choose small-batch craftsmanship over the noise of the mass-production assembly line.
High on Comfort, Soft on the Senses
We draw heavy inspiration from the organic forms of the mid-century period, combining them with a warm, "low-stimulus" design ethos. By focusing on sensory-friendly textures and gentle contours, we create pieces that don't shout for attention. Instead, they invite you to slow down, run your hands over the smooth grain, and find a moment of calm.
Keeping it Honest
We focus on the fine details and believe in letting the wood speak for itself. We never use artificial stains. Instead, we finish every single piece with a natural blend of oils and beeswax to highlight the authentic grain and rich color of the wood. Because of this, every single creation is truly one of a kind.
Crafted with precision. Designed for comfort. Built to endure.
How We Got Started
Stick To The Woods bloomed into existence because of a broken charging port.
When Dereck’s phone stopped charging, a search for a wireless replacement left us dissatisfied with the endless sea of disposable plastic options out in the world.
Instead of settling for the plastic abyss, we saw an opportunity to bring warmth and nature into an object people interact with every single day.
Balancing a background in tech design with a love for mid-century aesthetics and sustainable woodworking, we set out to build the perfect overnight charger.
After dozens of design iterations and hundreds of hours refining the details in CAD, we are so excited to share this vision with anyone looking to bring a touch of calm and intentional design into their home.

Our Woodshop
We source our wood from a local sawmill, making use of smaller imperfect slabs and honing them into beautiful boards & unique, router-ready panels.
We are currently operating out of a dedicated workshop in beautiful Dutton, ON.
If you like what we do and would like to support our work, tips go towards keeping our woodshop going!
